## Exceptionally High Torque Performance with Radial Piston Motor
Danfoss Power Solutions has introduced the Vickers ICMB Industrial Cam Mass Motor, offering high torque density, low moment of inertia, and up to 95% efficiency for heavy-duty rotary drives.
### High Torque and Dynamic Performance
The ICMB motor is designed to deliver full torque power from zero speed. This feature provides a significant advantage in applications requiring controlled starts under load. The displacement range varies from 15,100 cc/rev to 52,800 cc/rev; torque values are between 240 Nm/bar and 840 Nm/bar, and nominal speeds are between 21-94 rpm.
High torque density is also supported by a low moment of inertia, which enables the motor to provide a fast dynamic response. Low inertia reduces pressure shocks during sudden load changes or emergency stops, positively impacting system stability and the stress on mechanical parts. This structure increases control precision while reducing energy consumption, especially during start-up and shutdown phases.
### Efficiency and Thermal Management
The overall efficiency of the motor can be 95% or higher, depending on operating conditions. High efficiency reduces hydraulic power losses and heat generation, thereby extending component life and decreasing cooling requirements. Reduced thermal stress minimizes maintenance frequency and operating costs.
### Compact Design and Mounting Flexibility
The ICMB features a compact housing optimized for space-constrained applications. It offers various mounting options; it can be mounted with a hollow shaft using a shrink disc connection or directly connected to a splined shaft with a splined internal bore. A through-hole option is also available. Mounting methods include torque arm and flange mounting. Torque arm mounting eliminates the need for additional couplings, flanges, or base plates, reducing alignment requirements.
### Application Areas and Expanding Platform
ICMB motors are suitable for rotary drive applications such as cranes, drilling rigs, conveyors, bucket wheel reclaimers, crushers, grinders, feeders/dissolvers, furnace drives, and compacting feed rollers.
Currently, motors covering a wide displacement range with four frame sizes are available on the market, while a fifth frame size is under development. The combination of high torque, low inertia, and high efficiency in a compact casing makes the ICMB platform ideal for industrial applications requiring demanding continuous operation.
