    ## digid GmbH Simplifies Nanosensor Integration in Industrial Systems

digid GmbH offers a comprehensive end-to-end engineering and integration support service to simplify the integration of nanoscale sensors in industrial and embedded applications. This service ensures seamless integration of sensors into mechanical and electronic systems.

    ### End-to-End Integration Support

Announced at Embedded World 2026, this initiative is designed to make it easier for hardware developers to integrate small sensors into mechanical parts and electronic systems. Full design, simulation, and assembly support are provided.

    ### Overcoming Integration Challenges

digid specializes in ultra-miniaturized printed force and temperature sensors at the nanometer scale but identified integration as the biggest hurdle. The connection and signal routing of micro-scale sensors present a technical challenge for new hardware designers. Therefore, digid provides a specialized engineering workflow that manages the entire integration process.

Customers can send mechanical parts or CAD files. digid performs the following operations:

    • Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations
    • Sensor placement and coating
    • Electrical signal routing
    • Integration of usable electronic interfaces

The goal is to provide fully integrated plug-and-play sensor solutions rather than independent components.

    ### Simulation-Supported Sensor Design

The integration process is supported in collaboration with Ansys. This allows sensor placement and performance to be optimized before production using advanced simulation tools.

Sensors can be directly coated onto the customer's mechanical part or delivered as a sub-assembly module ready for integration into production systems.

One method involves directly coating thin-film electrodes onto the mechanical part and connecting them to a flexible PCB via wire bonding. This PCB connects to traditional electronic interfaces with standard connectors.

    ### Robotics and Automation Applications

digid's nanosensors are used in applications where conventional sensors are too large or inadequate. In robotic systems, force sensors can be directly coated onto gripping surfaces, providing precise force feedback without altering the physical structure.

In high-speed automated machines, sensors are integrated into production equipment to detect contact events, blockages, or contamination in real time. This provides more accurate results compared to indirect vibration-based monitoring.

    ### Advanced Thermal Monitoring

The technology enables direct temperature measurement in microelectronics; temperature is monitored instantly in areas such as power devices, semiconductor chips, and battery cells. This eliminates thermal delays seen in conventional thermocouples or probes.

At Embedded World 2026, digid's integrated nanosensor solutions are exhibited in Hall 3A, Stand 627.
