AutomationDirect Adds I/O Modules to Productivity PLC Family

AutomationDirect has introduced new low-noise I/O modules for its popular Productivity1000 and Productivity2000 PLC series. This expansion includes solid-state relay output modules, 16-bit resolution thermocouple modules, and a dual-purpose discrete/relay combination module.

AutomationDirect's Productivity PLC series is favored for its affordability and advanced features. With CPU costs starting at $139 and free programming software, it offers design flexibility. It supports standard communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus RTU/TCP, and EtherNet/IP.

### Features of the New Modules

• P1-04TEPS and P2-8TEPS solid-state relay modules: Provide long life and fast switching as they contain no mechanical parts.
• P1-04TEPS offers 4 output channels for Productivity1000.
• P2-8TEPS provides 8 output channels for Productivity2000.
• P1-04THMS and P2-08THMS thermocouple modules: 16-bit resolution, wide thermocouple compatibility, and noise-canceling isolated input terminals.
• P1-04THMS has four, and P2-08THMS has eight input channels.
• P1-12CDRS combination module: Combines high-current (5 A) SPST relay control with 8 24 VAC/24 VDC discrete I/O ports.

### Technical and Usage Advantages
These modules, having no mechanical moving parts, eliminate wear and arcing, thereby minimizing electromagnetic interference (EMI). They also offer high performance in automation systems with fast switching capabilities.

Thermocouple modules are used for measuring process parameters such as reactor temperature, water or steam temperature, and for diagnostic temperature monitoring like bearing and stack temperatures. The combination module saves space and cost by offering both relay and discrete I/O features.
