    ## Smart Infrastructure Integration with Artificial Intelligence and Radar Systems

At Embedded World 2026, held in Nuremberg from March 10-12, 2026, Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH is showcasing smart infrastructure solutions that combine artificial intelligence (AI), radar sensing, and edge computing technologies. These solutions target industrial automation, building services, and smart city applications.

    ### Scope of Collaboration

As an electronic distributor and system integrator operating in the embedded, energy, mobility, and industrial segments, Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH is demonstrating smart infrastructure technologies at Embedded World 2026 through a multi-vendor collaboration. Leading semiconductor and component manufacturers such as Infineon Technologies AG, Nordic Semiconductor, ams OSRAM, and Intel Corporation have come together to offer interoperable systems addressing environmental sensing, automation, and energy efficiency challenges.

    ### Technical Solutions and Responsibilities

The showcased solutions include two integrated use cases:

    - Automated Meter Reading and Leak Detection: AI-based image recognition is combined with radar-based level measurement to digitally read analog water meters and detect anomalies. Infineon's PSOC™ Edge microcontroller performs sensor fusion and local inference operations, reducing latency and network dependency.

    - Radar-Based Lighting Control: A Nordic Semiconductor MCU is integrated with ams OSRAM’s EVIYOS™ LED drivers to enable zonal lighting based on motion and occupancy data from a radar sensor. This system enhances energy efficiency and safety in public areas.

Intel's edge computing elements form the core of the infrastructure. Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processors, with integrated neural processing units, deliver up to 50 TOPS of AI performance for real-time visual analysis and control tasks. Additionally, Intel-supported Core™ and Xeon® E-2434 processors provide scalable processing capacity for industrial edge AI workloads.

    ### Application Areas and Benefits

These solutions are used in areas such as automatic leak detection in water distribution systems, smart street lighting in urban areas, and embedded AI analytics in industrial control systems. Local decision-making and intelligent sensor fusion lead to significant improvements in process stability, operational transparency, and energy consumption.

    ### Conclusion and Expected Impacts

While specific performance metrics have not yet been shared, the integration of AI inference at the edge and radar sensing is expected to bring measurable gains in response time and resource efficiency. Local AI processing reduces cloud latency, while radar-supported control systems contribute to energy optimization and security enhancements.

This collaboration serves as a successful example of integrating multi-vendor components into harmonious systems and spearheads the development of innovative solutions in the digital infrastructure domain.
